Why Snoring ?

Whilst sleeping every person comes to a certain point of relaxation and the muscles, especially the nasopharyngeal space forms this.
The limp muscles is set by the air flow of inhalation and exhalation to vibrate.
And the noise caused is thereby referred to as snoring.
Mostly is snoring next to a nocturnal nasal obstruction , the problem of so-called " floppy " soft palate with an elongated uvula before .

Are there several types of snoring?

There are two types of snoring :

  1. Snoring without breathing disorder

  2. Snoring with breathing disorder

    Snoring occurs while trying not to disturb the rhythm of breath , or sleep quality, one speaks of the simple or primary snoring.

    In so-called apneic snoring there is a temporary completed occlusion of the upper airways , so that there will be a pause from breathing ( more than 10 seconds ) .
    To prevent suffication the decreased oxygen performs an awaking reaction.
    This reaction is indeed vital , but causes a sleep disorder.

Snoring can affect the health ?

Snoring without a breathing disorder can disrupt sleep by the sound of your partner and thereby possibly lead to relationship problems .
Snoring with breathing disorders can cause the disruption of normal sleep and lack of oxygen and could lead to serious health disorders.

These include , for example :

  • Severe daytime sleepiness with fall asleep

  • Morning headache

  • Hypertension

  • Cardiopulmonary diseases

  • Sexual dysfunction

  • Increase in the risk for heart attack and stroke

What causes snoring?

  • Sleep on your back

  • Nasal obstruction

  • Abnormalities in the throat

  • Abnormalities in the region of the jaw (eg pragmatism )

  • Overweight

  • Strong reducing the muscle tension during sleep , for example, by consumption of alcohol
